v0.117.0-rc25 Whole Worlds
2026-10-26
Everything in rc24, plus craft that come to rest on a moving planet, cheaper physics near the ground, and a Hub that sits idle quietly.
Resting on a moving world
A craft or vehicle parked on a planet moving on its rails never fell asleep, however still it stood, and a big one kept costing physics time for as long as it lay there. Carrying it along with its planet each tick rounded its place a little differently every time, and moved it steadily away from the middle of the physics world, where positions are coarser.
- The physics world now rides along with the planet the camera is on, so nothing on it is moved at all by the carry. A craft on a moving planet rests and sleeps exactly as it would on still ground, on the same tick and on the same spot.

Cheaper near the ground
A distance to the ground skips the parts of the terrain too far away to matter, with the same answer. In our tests a plane rolling on terrain costs about a third of what it did, and a 1,000-part craft lying on the ground about a quarter.
The Hub
The Hub no longer runs a processor core flat out while a game it launched is running, or while it waits for the list of versions. It checks on its work a few times a second instead.
Upgrading
Nothing to do. What you may notice:
- Bodies on a planet moving on its rails move very slightly differently from before, because the carry no longer rounds their positions every tick.
- A joint anchored to a fixed point in the world, on a planet moving on its rails, now stays with the planet instead of being left behind in space.

Engine
The binaries are not signed yet. On macOS, right-click the app and pick Open the first time. On Windows, if SmartScreen appears, pick More info then Run anyway.
